Welcome to St. Lucy School
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to St. Lucy School for the Blind, where we have been transforming lives since 1958.
Founded in response to a survey by the Kenya Society for the Blind, our school began as a small rehabilitation center with just 7 boys. Today, we serve 260 students across six specialized sections, providing comprehensive education and life skills training.
"Knowledge is Sight" is more than our motto; it's our guiding principle. We believe that education illuminates the path to independence and success for every visually impaired child.
Under the dedicated care of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph since 1987, and building on the foundation laid by the Consolata Catholic Missionaries, we have created a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Our qualified staff works tirelessly to ensure each student develops confidence, independence, and the skills needed for success in life.
From nursery to vocational training, from academic excellence to co-curricular achievements, we are committed to holistic development. Our students not only excel academically but also discover their talents in music, sports, and various life skills.
